AI is stupid

Here is something about AI that everyone seems to keep missing. AI models are not inherently intelligent or knowledgeable! AI models like ChatGPT don't have true understanding or consciousness. They are just statistical models trained on vast amounts of data to recognise patterns and generate responses based on those patterns. They don't have a deep comprehension of the concepts they handle.

While AI might be able to mimic human-like conversation or perform complex tasks, it doesn't have the contextual understanding and common sense that we do. They don't "know" anything in the same way we do. They are good at pattern recognition and statistical correlations, but that is about it. Their knowledge is confined to what has been explicitly or implicitly included in their training data.

So enough of the nonsense that AI is smarter than us. It isn't. It's quite stupid... and that may well prove far more dangerous!
